Have you ever heard of 'Begindergarten'? It's a way to get kids ready for their first year in school and Bentley has it.

This is a whole new concept for me, but there is now a way to get kids ready for their first year of school. You've seen kids have a massive freak-outs because they were not ready to go to school. Bentley Community Schools has put together a program to help with that shock, 'Begindergarten'.

If your kid is around 5 years-old by the time fall rolls around, they can be enrolled in this program. And, according to the brochure, this program will provide kids an additional year to grow emotionally, socially, and academically, before they head off to kindergarten. The curriculum will be nature-centered, meaning they will be outside a lot and will experience their learning in an environmentally-focused setting.

If you'd like to learn more about this program, there will be an open house on Tuesday, June 20th from 5-7 p.m. at Barhitte Elementary (6080 Roberta St, Burton). You can also check out the Facebook event page here.
