A woman from Lapeer County is being accused of embezzling $460,000 from the residents at a nursing home she worked at.

After being arrested on Thursday by special agents from the Department of Attorney General, the 44-year-old woman from Almont is expected to be arraigned on Friday. MLive says she faces two counts of embezzlement with each punishable by up to 20 years in prison and or a fine of $50,000 or three times the value of the money or property involved

Investigators claim money was taken from nearly 140 residents at the Boulevard Health Center in Rochester Hills. The suspect was fired in April 2013 from her job as business manager after allegedly failing to follow standard financial reporting procedures.
