Are you ready for the snow? The deAngeli Branch of the Lapeer District Library will show you all the ways to enjoy wintertime and the cold on Saturday, January 12th at 11 a.m. when they present Michigan’s Winter Playground.
During the program, guests will learn about a multitude of Michigan based winter activities such as downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and more. For those looking for something a little more extreme,there will also be information on rafting, ice sailing, dog-sledding and other unique activities.
For those less interested in winter-based sports, the program will also showcase the best winter dining options and festivals around the state. The program is presented by Promote Michigan.

According to michigan.org, if you enjoy sledding down a snowy hill, to hitting the slopes skiing, snowboarding or tubing you can do it at one of the state's 49 ski areas. Michigan also offers thousands of miles of groomed snowmobile trails, hundreds of miles of fat tire biking trails and picturesque snowshoeing paths. Ice fishing locations abound around the state with more than 11,000 frozen lakes provide outstanding ice fishing locations.
