Oakland County 4H Fair Is Almost Here – What You Need to Know

There are certain things that just scream summer in Michigan. Sunshine and outdoor swimming typically top the list, but for many, fairs and carnivals are where it's at.

With that being said, here is a big one to mark on your calendar. We have almost reached that time of the summer where thousands of families, friends, couples, and more come from all over Oakland County and beyond, flocking to Davisburg for the Oakland County 4H Fair.

The Oakland County Fair 2023 will take place, as always, at Springfield Oaks County Park in Davisburg and run from July 7th through July 16th.

Here is a breakdown of some of the things to look forward to during this 10-day event. Keep reading for more information on ticket pricing and opening and closing times.

What To Expect

Throughout its 10-day run, the Oakland County Fair will offer tons of family fun. From the incredible Midway with carnival rides for all ages, to the more relaxed animal barns where visitors can see cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits, all sorts of birds, pigs, and even newborn animals. Fantastic for a family stroll with the little ones.

But don't forget the extremely popular demolition derby and Monster truck events. Or, if music is more up your alley, don't miss the free concerts. All this, combined with all the other exhibits, equals over one week of unforgettable family fun.

Will There Be Fireworks at the Fair?

The fair will kick off on Friday, July 7th. And, assuming you decide to attend the Figure 8 Race Grandstand Event near the horse area, you will be able to enjoy the fireworks to follow at 10 p.m.

What Does the Ticket Pricing Look Like For 2023?

Most rides require between 2 and 5 tickets and single tickets can be purchased for $1.25 each. Or grab a Value Pack of 20 Tickets for just $20.

There will also be Daily Carnival Armbands available. Carnival Armbands for July 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, & 15 will be $30 each. If you want to save a few bucks, Carnival Armbands for July 11, 13, & 16 will be just $25.

And, for you ride warriors, you can purchase a Mega Carnival Pass for just $75 (if purchased before July 1st) and $85 if purchased after July 1st.

What Time Does The Fair Open Each Day?

This is a good question, because it varies a bit, and it's hard to find any rhyme or reason with the schedule. On Fridays, the fair opens at 1 p.m. and closes at 11 p.m. Saturdays it opens a bit earlier, from noon to 11 p.m. From Monday to Thursday, it opens at 1 p.m. and closes up at 10 p.m., a bit earlier than the weekend nights. Then, on Sunday July 16, the final night of the festival, it closes up at 7 p.m.
