One Dead, One Injured In Head-On Collision In Lapeer County

A North Branch man is now dead after a head-on collision in Lapeer County yesterday. The accident happened on Burnside Road in Brown City around 10 a.m.

According to WNEM TV 5:

James Schaffer, 29, was driving a 1998 Ford Expedition westbound when he crossed the center lane into the path of a freightliner semi traveling eastbound, the Lapeer County Sheriff's Office said.

Schaffer was pronounced dead at the scene, but the semi driver only suffered minor injuries.
