It happened this week in 1979, a organization called Musicians United for Safe Energy put on five concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The group that put the No Nukes concerts together was lead by Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Bonnie Raitt and John Hall. An amazing list of musicians performed including Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, The Doobie Brothers, Tom Petty, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Crosby, Stills & Nash and several others.
Two months later the album No Nukes: The Muse Concerts For a Non-Nuclear Future was released and the following May the film No Nukes came out.
