He was the man who introduced the world to the great sounds of reggae music. Bob Marley was born in Jamaica today February 6, 1945 and when he was 18 years old he put together his band The Wailing Wailers that would later become The Wailers.

Bob first got attention when Johnny Nash had a hit record with one of his tunes 'Stir It Up'. After getting this break he would go on to sign a contract with Island Records in 1972 and then would go on to sell over 20 million records.
Bob's life and career were cut short in 1981 when he lost his battle with cancer.
